I’ve gotten so may requests to share snacks I give to the girls from Trader Joe’s (especially Nora in these hard toddler days), so thought it would be easiest to have this here to come back to! I recently stocked up on some things at TJ’s and figured I’d just snap some photos of things we enjoy keeping on hand, or treats that are winners over here.
Being honest - Nora is so hit-and-miss with snacks these days. Some days she’ll eat a plate of steamed broccoli, other days all she wants is crackers. I’ll just take the balance, right?!
So obviously we all want our kids eating enough protein, veggies and fruit. We want them healthy! Meals for toddlers is a totally different post, but here are a lot of snacks I enjoy having at home/in the diaper bag for Nora (and Mabel has a lot of these as well). I, of course, try not to give too many crackers/carby/grainy things and prefer veggies and fruit… but we also LOVE chick-fil-a, so… I’ll just dive into the snacks here... 🤣😅
Loooove perfect bars. Sooo much. I’m addicted but Nora loves them too. She won’t eat a whole one, but they also recently came out with Perfect Kids bars! They’re available at Target now, not TJ’s, but still... so cool.
Nora loves hummus. She will often dip her cracker (or fingers 😖) and then lick off the hummus, proceeding to use the same thing to get more hummus into her vacuum mouth. My trick? Dip the crackers in hummus beforehand and lay them on her plate all cute, and then no gross hummus! Haha. Seriously though. She loves it. Still won’t eat carrots, but if your kid eats carrots then that’s a great option too!
Nora eats frozen peas, frozen. She loves it! Begs for peas when we open the freezer. It’s weird but I’m cool with it.

I give these WAY more than I’d like to. I’ll just leave it at that 🤷🏼♀️
So these are totally technically cookies. But they’re figs. So... at least they’re not Oreos.
Nora begs for cheese sticks all. day. long. I limit her, but man my girl is obsessed!
Obviously if you’re a nut-allergy home then stay away from these. but for those that have older babes and no allergies, nuts/almonds are a great way to get some protein and healthy fats in. I don’t give these to Mabel because it’s a choking hazard for her gummy smile, but Nora loves them.
DJ says we’re a “bar family” because we all love bars so much, haha. perfect bars and gomacro bars are my favorites, DJ loves quest bars most and Nora loves pretty much any kind of bar (I actually plan to begin making my own bars instead of purchasing these so often, because of the waste from all the packaging. I’ll be sure to share any recipes we end up loving!)
We don’t ever really do the gummy fruit snacks (even those were the 90’s era snack time staple) but we do loooove dried fruit. Both my girls adore dried mangoes, banana chips, berries etc. and they’re easy to take on the go!
Along with things like whole milk yogurt (Greek is always a good option or noosa brand) or a dairy alternative, fresh fruit and veggies. Cut grapes, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, watermelon, berries, bananas etc. We also do like, frozen waffles toasted and cheerios. But we mix it up and make sure that the week is well balanced as best we can.
You're doing awesome! I love hearing what others are giving their toddlers for snacks. If yours is anything like mine, she begs all day long for them. Partly from boredom at times and partly because she’s a grazer right now. Either way i certainly feel like majority of our food budget is going to snacks right now, yikes!
